Monday Mashup

It is less than a week away from tournament time here at the WSO and we couldn't be any more excited. Hopefully you already have your tickets and will be able to soak in all of the tennis action that you can next week. August 18th will be here in no time, but until it does, there is still tennis action happening elsewhere, and that's what the Monday Mashup is for.

It's no major secret that Novak Djokovic has had less success this year than last. Granted, he has done well, but all the same has fallen short from a year ago when he was the most dominant player on tour. He did win the Rogers cup though for the second year in a row.

Roger Federer has no plans to end his Olympic career. He has been pretty clear about wanting to play in Rio De Janeiro next Olympics. Of course he was destroyed by Andy Murray in the gold medal match last week, so the Swiss will be looking for a bit of vindication in 2016, provided he can play. Don't bet against him.

Finally, while this last story isn't strictly tennis related, it is important. The United States finished first in the medal standings
winning 46 gold and 104 total. It wasn't even close. China was second with 38 gold and 88 total. Great Britain was third with 29 gold and 65 total.

So with the tournament fast approaching it's an exciting time here in Winston. We are all super pumped here and hope you are too.
