The Winston-Salem Open, an ATP World Tour 250 event held from Aug. 16-23 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex, has again partnered with DecoTurf to provide the official court surface for the tournament.
A cushioned acrylic surfacing system, DecoTurf has been in use in Winston-Salem since the tournament’s inception in 2011. It has been the surface of the US Open since 1978 and was used at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, among other high-profile venues.
The Winston-Salem Open will feature five newly resurfaced tournament courts as well as six practice courts, all using the DecoTurf surface.
“We are excited to once again offer our players the opportunity to play and practice on the same DecoTurf surface that is used at the US Open,” said tournament director Bill Oakes. “Players enjoy being able to have a smooth transition from the Winston-Salem Open courts to those at one of the biggest tournaments on their calendar every year.”
DecoTurf is a brand of California Sports Surfaces, located in Andover, Mass. John Graham serves as the Managing Director.
