The Winston-Salem Open, which will take place August 16-23 at the Wake Forest Tennis Center, has selected Diamondback Grill to provide catering for the tournament’s exclusive VIP Courtside Club.  The courtside club is accessible only to sponsors and those who purchase an upgraded “Friend of the Tournament” box seat ticket package.  A limited number of “Friend of the Tournament” packages are still available for both current box seat holders as well as new patrons.

Guests in the VIP Courtside Club will enjoy complimentary lunch and dinner served by Diamondback Grill with desserts from Maxie B’s, along with Michelob Ultra beer, wines from Raffaldini Vineyards and Pepsi products.

“All of us at Diamondback are incredibly excited and honored to participate in such an important local event for Winston-Salem. Our local, homemade and fresh fare will be the perfect match for the Winston-Salem Open,” Diamondback co-owner Murphy Gregg said.  “We will feature a variety of local artisan foods for lunch, appetizers and dinner at the tournament, including selections from the farm at the nearby Children’s Home, North Carolina shrimp, and local pork and breads from downtown’s Camino Bakery.”

“We’re celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and have adopted ‘Diamondback Loves Local’ as our guiding theme for catering and at our restaurant on Avalon Road,” he added.

“The selection of Diamondback as the catering partner for the Winston-Salem Open’s Courtside Club makes perfect sense. Many fans are familiar with Diamondback’s outstanding restaurant that has been a part of the community for years,” Pete Zifchak, BB&T senior vice president and director of corporate sports marketing and event planning, said.  BB&T is a presenting sponsor of the Winston-Salem Open and Zifchak is a board member of Winston-Salem Professional Tennis.

“Diamondback cares about Winston-Salem and keeping big-time tennis fans excited about the tournament,” Zifchak added.  “Diamondback’s catering menus are creative, and the staff is reliable and responsive, bringing a whole new level of dining enhancement to the tournament’s Courtside Club.”
In addition to admission the Courtside Club, the Friend of the Tournament upgrade offers exclusive benefits including priority box seating, an invitation to an exclusive clinic conducted by an ATP Tour player, VIP parking and more.  To reserve a box seat package and upgrade to Friend of the Tournament, please contact Teresa Braeckel at (336) 758-4894 or braeckte@wfu.edu.
