WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The presenting sponsors of the Winston-Salem Open – BB&T, Champion and Flow – have renewed their commitments to the tournament through 2020. Wake Forest Baptist Health, a platinum level sponsor, also renewed its sponsorship of the Winston-Salem Open through 2020 while Citizen and Novant Health have signed on as a gold level sponsors, also through 2020.

In tandem with the sponsor renewals, the Winston-Salem Open is announcing a renewed series agreement with the US Open Series and Emirates Airline through 2018.

“There are four key drivers – our fans, players, volunteers and certainly our sponsors – that have been instrumental in making the Winston-Salem Open a tremendous success,” Winston-Salem Open tournament director Bill Oakes said. “The renewed sponsorships of BB&T, Champion, Flow and Wake Forest Baptist Health demonstrate the high level of commitment that the local business community has to our tournament, and we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support.”

“We are equally excited about USTA’s renewed commitment to broadcasting the Winston-Salem Open, which enables the tournament’s ‘Winston-Salem’ moniker to be viewed by tennis fans across America and internationally” Oakes added.  “Today is a banner day for the longevity of the Winston-Salem Open. Right now, we’re focused on presenting the best tournament ever next month since our founding in 2011.”

“The Winston-Salem Open took a large step forward today in securing extensions with our three presenting sponsors and that’s a large testament to our fans and the community of Winston-Salem,” said Don Flow, the chairman of the board of directors for the Winston-Salem Open. “There’s such a rich history of tennis in this community and we’re grateful Winston-Salem has not only welcomed and embraced the tournament, but has helped it grow to new heights year in and year out. With the support of our sponsors and the community, we are dedicated to continuing the growth of the tournament for many years to come.”

“Champion is excited to renew its sponsorship of the Winston-Salem Open through 2020,” said Champion’s director of athletics Matt Waterman. “We are proud to help play a part in bringing big-time tennis to our hometown of Winston-Salem. The Winston-Salem Open has proven to be a fantastic event that is great for the community and for the sport of tennis.”
