WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After a successful debut in 2015, the Winston-Salem Open and Wyndham Championship are partnering once again to offer Piedmont Triad sports fans an incredible deal to see two world-class sports events for one low price, the tournaments announced today. The 2016 Winston-Salem Open is set for Aug. 20-27, 2016 at the Wake Forest University Tennis Center adjacent to BB&T Field; the 77th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 15-21, 2016 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Through this Co-Op, Piedmont Triad sports fans can purchase tickets to both events for one low price. One $50 ticket provides access to one day at each event; these tickets are good for a specific day of Wyndham Championship play and a specific session of Winston-Salem Open competition. The offer is valid through Aug. 21, 2016. Co-Op tickets may be purchased by clicking here.
In addition, volunteers at each event will enjoy free admission to the opposite event by showing their volunteer credentials. Wyndham Championship volunteers can gain free admission to the Winston-Salem Open by showing their tournament volunteer credential. Similarly, Winston-Salem Open volunteers need only show their tournament volunteer credential to gain free admission to the Wyndham.
“Our partnership with the Winston-Salem Open was successful last year, and we’re happy to bring it back,” Wyndham Championship tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We’ve streamlined it a little bit, but the part we’re happiest about is the volunteer swap. Allowing volunteers from both events to experience the other free of charge with their volunteer credential is a great added benefit for all of our volunteers. Thanks to Bill Oakes and his staff at the Winston-Salem Open for working with us again this year – we’re proud to take care of our spectators, our volunteers and the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina.”
“We are very happy to offer this opportunity to our volunteers and sports fans throughout the Triad,” tournament director Bill Oakes said. “The Winston-Salem Open and the Wyndham Championship bring two great professional sports events to our region in consecutive weeks – it’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our region to the rest of the world through the international television broadcasts. We appreciate our fans and our volunteers, and we’re ecstatic to provide this opportunity to them as a small ‘thank you’ for their support.”
