DK Suresh of Wake Forest national champion stardom completed an epic run to reach his debut singles appearance in the Winston-Salem Open main draw. Suresh overcame a first set deficit against former Top 20 star Alejandro Tabilo to complete the run and ink his spot in the main draw.
Next up for Suresh will be a showdown with Argentina’s Mariano Navone on Monday.
A product of Wake Forest’s national championship program, Suresh brings both an undefeated college résumé and recent NCAA glory to the professional stage.
After a flawless 21-0 run in both singles and doubles at Georgia Gwinnett, he transferred to Wake Forest and in the 2024–25 season was named ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned First Team All-ACC honors, reached the NCAA singles semifinals, logged 20 singles and 28 doubles wins, and was ranked No. 6 nationally in the final ITA poll. He then sealed the NCAA team title with a match-winning performance in the championship final.
