The Winston-Salem Open has awarded its first 2025 main draw wild card to Stefan Dostanic.
The Wake Forest standout helped lead the Demon Deacons to the 2025 NCAA Team Championship and recently secured an automatic wild card into the 2025 US Open main draw by winning the 2024-25 American Collegiate Wild Card Playoff at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
“I love Winston-Salem and I would say this is a home tournament to me now,” Dostanic said upon receiving his wild card. “I’ve seen so much great support from the city and the fans being at Wake these past few months, and I couldn’t be happier to get this wild card.”
Dostanic competed as Wake Forest’s No. 1 for the 2025 spring season, culminating with a dominant showing in the NCAA tournament that saw the Demon Deacons capture the 2025 team national championship. Dostanic previously played for the USC Trojans before transferring to Wake and is a native of Southern California.
The 2025 Winston-Salem Open will represent Dostanic’s ATP main draw debut and come at a critical time as he prepares for his Grand Slam debut at the 2025 US Open.
“We’re thrilled to award our first wild card to Stefan,” said Tournament Director Jeff Ryan. “He’s shown an amazing level of tennis this year leading Wake Forest to a national championship, and this will be an amazing opportunity to highlight a rising talent with a meaningful connection to our local community here in Winston-Salem.”
The full Winston-Salem player entry list will be announced in mid-July. Tickets for the 2025 Winston-Salem Open are on sale now, with the event set to run from August 16-23 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
