Korda, Medjedovic Lead Quarterfinal Charge at 14th Winston-Salem Open

The ATP 250 Winston-Salem Open is heating up today as the men’s singles quarterfinals unfold. The matchups are set for August 21, beginning at 2:00 PM ET.

Sebastian Korda (11) vs. Miomir Kecmanović (13)

Korda, the 11th seed, advanced to the quarterfinals after a gritty round-of-16 win over Kamil Majchrzak, dropping the first set before taking the next two with scores of 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-4. 

Kecmanović earned his spot by dispatching Luciano Darderi (3) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1

Jaume Munar (12) vs. Marton Fucsovics

Munar pulled off a comeback against the defending champion Lorenzo Sonego in the third round, defeating him in 3 sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. 

Fucsovics, on the other hand, defeated Roberto Bautista Agut (14) in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, Wednesday afternoon. Fucsovics also upset the 2nd seed, Tallon Griekspoor, in the Round of 32. 

Hamad Medjedovic vs. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (9)

Serbia’s Medjedovic has yet to lose a set in the tournament. He reached the quarterfinals after defeating Gabriel Diallo (4) 6-4, 6-2. 

Mpetshi Perricard, seeded 9th, advanced past Alexandre Müller (8) with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. 

Yunchaokete Bu vs. Botic van de Zandschulp

Yunchaokete Bu defeated Mariano Navone in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to make his way into the quarterfinals. Bu also defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas (1) in the Round of 32 Tuesday night. 

Botic van de Zandschulp came back to defeat former champion and 10th seed Sebastian Baez after losing the first set 0-6 for a final score of 0-6, 6-1, 6-4. 

Today's quarterfinals start at 2pm ET.
