The North American hard-court swing continues this week at the Winston-Salem Open, where Daniil Medvedev leads the field at the ATP 250 event. Stefanos Tsitsipas is also among the draw, as are #NextGenATP hopefuls Martin Landaluce, Cruz Hewitt and Darwin Blanch.

ATPTour.com looks at five things to watch in Winston-Salem:

1) Top seed Medvedev: Returning to the site where he won his second tour-level title, Medvedev has fond memories of winning in Winston-Salem as a 22-year-old in 2018. The former World No. 1 returns to the ATP 250 event for the first time since that triumph. Medvedev has won two ATP Tour titles this season, both on outdoor hard courts (Brisbane, Dubai).

2) #NextGenATP stars: The 17-year-old Hewitt, son of Australian icon Lleyton Hewitt, is making just his second ATP Tour appearance. The teenager earned his first tour-level win last month in Washington. Spain's Landaluce seeks to improve upon his third-place position in the PIF ATP Live Next Gen Race, only behind Rafael Jodar and Joao Fonseca. The American Blanch, 18, is also competing in North Carolina.

3) Tsitsipas seeking hard-court form: Tsitsipas is back in Winston-Salem for the second consecutive year. The Greek, who in 2021 reached a career-high No. 3 in the PIF ATP Rankings, is seeded seventh. Tsitsipas won his first title of the season last month on the Gstaad clay. He now seeks his first trophy on hard courts since winning in Dubai last year.

4) Darderi, Buse, Fery round out Top 4 seeds: Second seed Luciano Darderi is competing in Winston-Salem for the third straight year, while Peru’s Ignacio Buse makes his tournament debut as the third seed. Fourth seed Arthur Fery is making his second tour-level appearance since his fairytale Wimbledon semi-final run this year. The 24-year-old Fery will begin against Dino Prizmic or Hewitt.

5) Former champions fill draw: The past four Winston-Salem titlists are among the 2026 field, including defending champion Marton Fucsovics. Lorenzo Sonego, the 2024 champion, could clash with ninth seed and 2022 titlist Adrian Mannarino in the second round. Argentine Sebastian Baez, who lifted the trophy in 2023, could face Fucsovics in his opener.
